Use case

QR codes for marketing campaigns.

Print is invisible to your analytics — until you put a QR code on it. Here's how marketing teams use Scanlytic to actually measure offline campaigns.

Per-channel attribution

The cardinal rule of campaign measurement: one QR code per channel. Don't print the same code on flyers, billboards, and packaging — generate separate dynamic codes so you can see which channel actually drives behavior.

Scanlytic tracks each code separately with country, city, device, browser, and timestamp. Layer UTM parameters on the destination URL and your downstream analytics (GA4, Mixpanel, Segment) can attribute conversions back to the offline source.

A/B test creative on print

Print two versions of a flyer with two different QR codes pointing to the same landing page. Measure which creative drives more scans. This is the only practical way to A/B test print, and most marketing teams have never done it because legacy QR tools don't support it.

Spike detection during launches

When your TV spot airs, packaging hits shelves, or a billboard goes live, real-time scan data tells you within minutes whether anyone noticed. A flat line during the airtime window is bad news; you want to act on it before the next placement window.

Saving campaigns mid-flight

The most-loved Scanlytic feature among marketing teams: when you realize the destination URL on 5,000 printed flyers is broken, you fix it in 30 seconds without reprinting. Dynamic QR codes mean your printed assets stay alive even when your CMS, brand, or product line changes.

What to actually report

  • Scans per channel — your top-line attribution number.
  • Unique scans — your real reach, deduplicated.
  • Geographic breakdown — which markets responded.
  • Time-to-first-scan — how long the printed asset takes to find its audience.
  • Repeat-scan rate — durable placements vs. one-and-done flyers.

Bonnes pratiques & cas concrets
